This is a series that is a response to forces prevalent in society relating to substance and façade. What has value in our world? Five pieces are composed each of two elements, one piece of three elements: - Each piece has one element (or, in one case, two elements) made of wood. This wood element has a specific form created by solidity and “substance.” - Each piece has one metal (aluminum) element: this has “skin” but very little substance. It mimics an aspect of the specific form of its wood counterpart (thereby assuming some of that part’s “substance”) but without its solidity.
